Lovely Local Spot with Great Food and Coffee. La Mela Mediterranean Cuisine is a fantastic local cafe and restaurant in Hackney. The team is always welcoming and friendly, and the service is consistently excellent. Their coffee is always on point — smooth, fresh, and the perfect start to the day. I’ve had breakfast here a few times and it’s always been top quality. The menu is quite broad too, offering a variety of options for lunch and more, so there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee, a relaxed breakfast, or a sit-down meal, La Mela delivers every time. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

We visited as a group of 4 for lunch and opted for the appetiser lunch menus. Every dish was absolutely fabulous—each plate was not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavour. The attention to detail in the ingredients and preparation really stood out, making each course a delight to savour. In addition to the wonderful food, the table service was exceptional. The staff were attentive, friendly, and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the meal, which enhanced our overall dining experience. We left thoroughly impressed and will definitely be returning.

Great atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The chef is very knowledgeable, very skilled and friendly. Whenever I pass by this way, I definitely stop by, I'll taste those delicious pastas.

Came for dinner; every starter and main we ordered was amazing! Full of flavour, decent servings and balanced meals. Highly recommend the pistachio cannolis as well — best I’ve had in London! Staff went above and beyond with their service. So pleased with our meal.

Third time lucky, on a Saturday, or a Sunday; La Mela, Mediterranean Restaurant, #Homerton, #Hackney, goes out of its way, 2 please, food exquisitely thought out, with the best of produce, like fat, juicy, pitted, green olives, whether U r #dining solo, working nearby, a #guardian in occupation, opposite, or a party of 6 - a family, impromptu - there is always the other room, or staff having a break from the #NHS Homerton Hospital. Always a warm welcome, from the staff, eg the lively young Italian waitress, who makes the most delicious, chocolatety, hot chocolate, at 33% pure + extra spoonfuls. The deserts are very tempting, but I have to watch my waistline. I will keep coming back…

Lovely little restaurant, they are open pretty much all day which is good to know. Laptop friendly. Good coffees & cold / fresh drink options. Food was lovely packed with flavour!
